A year-long programme to mark 20 years since the creation of the Scottish Parliament has been announced.
Designed to showcase the positive impact the Scottish Parliament has had on the lives of those living in Scotland over the last two decades, the programme will aim to reach people from all over Scotland. It will include an ‘open event’ in June, the launch of a new public exhibition telling the story of the Parliament, a series of family days held at Holyrood, and a competition for young people to write a letter to the Parliament on their hopes and aspirations for the Parliament over the next 20 years.
Details of the full programme will be released throughout the year with many opportunities for people across Scotland to be involved. Their are two main events taking place on Saturday 29th June – The Queen formally addressing Parliament and the more informal public celebrations.
